We're thrilled to announce that we're proudly sponsoring the long-awaited return of the Taunton Half Marathon on Sunday 1st March 2026.
After a 4-year break, the Taunton Half Marathon is back, and we couldn't miss the opportunity to have our name associated with the revival of this fantastic local event. Supporting mental wellbeing is important to Lentells, and what better way to promote mental and physical health than by backing an event that gets people moving and bringing the community together.
As part of our sponsorship, 5 of our own are lacing up their trainers and taking on the 13.1-mile challenge! Say hello to Harvey Harriss, Dan Richards, Niamh Bird, Ed Paull and Richard Lowe (left to right in above photo). Here's what they all had to say about their journey to the start line:
Harvey Harriss - Bookkeeper & Accounts Apprentice, Taunton Office
"I'm not quite sure why I've signed up to this, my old man inspired me when he ran the London Marathon this year, so I ran the Bath 10k and here we are... I best start some running training soon as there's no backing out now! I'm looking forward to running the Taunton Half alongside my colleagues."
Dan Richards - Head of IT
"I've been running on and off for a few years, taking part in 5k fun runs mostly. This year, I've been taking my running more seriously, completing the Martock 10k and a 15k Tough Mudder with some friends. Why'd I sign up to the Taunton Half? Simple, I crumple under peer pressure and up for the challenge! It'll be a great experience running alongside my colleagues, challenging myself further and I'm keen to make this another milestone in my running journey."
Niamh Bird - Assistant Manager, Chard Office
"After running three half marathons, I've officially caught the running bug and I'm now on a mission to earn my Super Halfs medal. Each race brings it's own adventure, and Taunton is next on my list. I'm excited to be running it alongside a fantastic team of colleagues, making the day even more memorable. I can't wait to soak up the atmosphere, push myself further and tick off another milestone on my running journey."
Ed Paull - Director, Chard Office
"Having ran a few half marathons (and 3 marathons!) before, being part of team Lentells for the return of the Taunton Half Marathon was a no brainer. I am really looking forward to running the race in my hometown, joining my fellow colleagues on the start line, and being cheered on by all our friends, other staff members and family for what will hopefully be a great day all round."
Richard Lowe - HR Manager
"Nothing says 'midlife crisis' quite like willingly running 13.1-miles without being chased. I am not precisely the poster boy for athletics, but at 50, I figured if my knees are going to complain anyway, they might as well do it whilst running with the brilliant team at Lentells. So, I'm trading in my lie ins for early morning training runs, my weekend cider for isotonic drinks, and my dignity, which to be fair I probably lost some time ago anyway, to do something challenging and rewarding with my colleagues. Looking forward to a brilliant day with fantastic people."
We wish everyone taking part good luck, not just on the day, but with training too. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the start line in March!
